Carryduff Colts – Inspiring the Next Generation of Footballers

Carryduff Colts is one of the fastest-growing cross-community football clubs in Northern Ireland, dedicated to developing young talent in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment.

Founded in 2003 by our previous Chair, Eamon Deeny, with a single team of 13 players, the club has grown exponentially to nearly 1,000 playing members in 2026, reflecting a clear and sustained commitment to making football accessible for all.

Carryduff Colts supports players from age 5 right through to adulthood, fielding four adult senior teams competing in the NAFL and DAWFL. This inclusive structure ensures that all players, regardless of ability, have a place to develop and enjoy the game at their own pace.

The club’s ethos is firmly rooted in welcoming players of all abilities, ages, and backgrounds. We offer footballing opportunities to all talents and abilities, with teams participating at mini soccer level through the IFA small sided games programme. At least one team competes at every age group in the South Belfast Youth League and three of our top youth squads play in the NIBFA National League.

In recent years, Carryduff Colts has made exceptional strides in championing football for underrepresented groups. From those early beginnings with only one boys’ team, we now have almost 200 girls (14 teams) who actively participate in the club, and in 2025, the club proudly launched its senior ladies’ team into the NIWFA league—a major milestone in its mission to promote gender equality in sport.

We also have a number of girls teams in the Lisburn League and the SBYL. Recognising that development comes at different paces, we also run a highly successful Saturday morning development programme, welcoming younger players across various age groups who are not yet ready to enter organised league competition.

Beyond the game, we strive to create lasting friendships, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love for football. Our dedicated coaches, volunteers and supporters work tirelessly to ensure every player has the opportunity to develop both on and off the pitch.
