Welcome to the Carryduff Ladies section.
The summer of 2015 was an important year for Ladies football. Not only because Canada hosted the biggest and most successful Ladies World Cup to date, but also because Carryduff Colts fielded their first ever Ladies football team!
At the start of the 2014-2015 season the Colts had just two girls playing in the IFA mini soccer league with the 2005 team managed by Stephen Auld and Stephen McArdle. By mid season they had been joined by two more girls, then three, then four and suddenly the word was out!
Following an invitation to a 6 week Ladies Football Festival at Mallusk playing fields in the summer of 2015, we had recruited a total of 12 girls keen to show off their skills.
The Festival was fantastic, with the girls more than holding their own against more established Ladies Clubs such as Lisburn Ladies, Bangor Ladies, Glentoran, Crusaders and Carnmoney Ladies.
The decision was soon taken to enter a Carryduff Ladies side into the IFA mini-soccer league the following season, playing 9-a-side full rules against a mix of boys and ladies sides across greater Belfast.
We currently have teams at U15, U13 and mini-soccer age groups. We are looking for girls at every age group with the long term plan of having dedicated Ladies teams at all ages.
