Firsts win at Rooftop

Rooftop 1 – 2 Carryduff Colts

On a bitterly cold day at Grove Playing fields The Colts came out the victors in a scrappy 1-2 win.

An early goal by Magee playing in a more advanced roll settled the team down. How he scooped it over Rooftops keeper beggared belief but it was just what The Colts needed and deserved on their early play.

On a rare attack from Rooftop the big keeper McCann done his job and pulled off a super save to keep his team the lead going in at halftime.

The 2nd half started with another quick goal by the Colts after a throw in from McEvoy caused confusion and a Rooftop player headed it over his own keeper to score an own goal and put The Colts 2 nil ahead.

Yet again some of The Rooftop players decided that football was not on the agenda and tried to ruffle a few feathers but The Colts are no soft touch and stood up to the challenge well.

However a poor referee decision nearly swung the game with 8 minutes to go in Rooftops favour as they scored from a very dubious penalty to make it 1-2 but The Colts held on to secure a valuable 3 points.
