2009s power ahead!

2009 boys continue to be a top team of their age group.
It has been a busy couple of weeks for the boys, with various tournaments to finish off their season.
In the past 3 weeks, the boys were beaten by Glentoran in the 1st place final at the East Belfast tournament, then again the following week beaten by Cliftonville in the 1st place final at the Colin Valley Cup.
However, the following day they won the shield at Bangor Young Men Tournament (pictures below  – special thanks too Sophie who joined us from the girls team).

Then today we attended for the 1st time a tournament in Newry & Down area hosted by Annalong.
In a group of seven, where the boys unusually played teams they had never played against, they comfortably topped the group winning every game and scoring 14 and conceding 1.
They then had a semifinal against Moira, winning comfortably 2-0.
Unfortunately, for the 3rd week running, they lost in the final on penalties to Portavogie, after drawing 0-0.
Over the past few weeks, the coaches have received loads of compliments and praise from various sources for how good the Carryduff 09 squad is and how they play as a team.
Now onto next week when we host our own tournament on Sunday morning.
