A very tough game against a well organised, quick, tough tackling and skilful opposition.
The Carryduff boys came into the game against Glendowan on the back of a few outstanding performances and wins but met a very good Glendowan team who pressed at speed throughout the entire game and gave the Carryduff boys no time on the ball.
Glendowan scored a few without reply in the first period but Cal and Owen scored a few to keep the score line close.
Danny and Ciaran were outstanding as always in defence and had to constantly be alert to the movement of a very skilfull front two for Glendowan.
Rhys and Jack fought hard up front but were up against a very physical and strong Glendowan defence who pressed them at every opportunity giving the boys very little space to attack.
Glendowan scored a few more in the second period but Rhys and Owen kept the score line close with a few nice finishes.
In the third period, the Carryduff boys started to grow into the game and started to come back, scoring a few without reply.
But the Glendowan team and their number 9 in particular showed great skill to finish off a lovely move and ensure the Glendowan win.
Our boys didn’t get into the game today with the same tempo as previous weeks but fought hard throughout the entire game and will have learned a lot from this game!!
