Carryduff defeated a very physical Braniel side at Knockbreda playing grounds with Ciaran, Danny, Owen, Ben, Rhys and Jack playing exceptionally well as a team.
Braniel opened the scoring very quickly with a long range shot from the kick off which flew past the Carryduff keeper.
However, the Carryduff boys quickly got back into the game with a long range bullet from Danny which flew into the bottom corner leaving the keeper with no chance!
The Carryduff boys were well on top and started to dominate the game coming close with a number of chances until Owen scored a rocket of a free kick to put the boys ahead 2-1 at the end of the first period.
The Carryduff boys started the second period with a bang – firstly, Ben made it 3-1 from a corner kick which the Braniel keeper couldn’t handle before a lovely goal from Rhys, turning a defender at speed and placing the ball in the bottom corner with a lovely finish to make it 4-1.
Growing in confidence, the boys started to knock the ball about really well to each other and it wasn’t long before Rhys played in Jack to finish in style to make it 5-1.
Braniel pulled one back with a lovely finish after a sweeping move across the pitch but Ben grabbed his second goal of the game with a lovely finish ensuring the boys ended the game with a great win.
A real team effort today – lovely passing, great defending and goals coming from the entire team.
