Carryduff Colts 2008s had an excellent game today at a very close match at Braniel Mini Pitch against Clonduff.
The game started brightly with some good passing up front between Cal and Wiktor. Some nice stepovers from Cal set up Wiktor to volley a shot which the goal keeper had no chance of saving.
Carryduff kept pressing while under some strong pressure from Braniel who displayed some great skill themselves. Luke and Noah combined very well in defence and communicated very well with each other to make it as hard for Clonduff as they could.
Oisin who had a strong game in goals in the first period, came out of goals in the second period to score a goal himself which the strong Clonduff keeper could only get his fingertips to.
Braniel came back sharply but because of Ben’s excellent work in goals they found it difficult to get past him.
Lewis covered every blade of grass and displayed some excellent defensive work and turns whilst also making some great attacking runs, which resulted in a goal the Clonduff keeper could not stop.
In the final period Cal attempted a stunning kick after a corner from Ben, that if it had come off would have been the goal of the season. Better luck next week Cal!
As the clock ticked down, Luke and Noah became more adventurous and started venturing forward looking for a goal and both looked very strong.
Another great game and played in a great sprit by both clubs. Well done to all involved.
