Carryduff U14 A 4 – 2 Rosario

Carryduff U14 A 4 - 2 Rosario

A good result and a pleasing performance the boys showed a lot more determination and character.

Rosario took the lead after a great touch and turn from the striker left him one on one with the keeper and he calmly slotted home for 1 – 0.

Carryduffs equaliser was a fair reflection on the play Jamie Wilkinson with a great effort down the right forced the keeper into a good save and Declan Magee tucked in the rebound.

Rosario again took the lead after a strong run down the right and a good ball across goal left the forward with a simple tap in at the far post 2 -1.

This goal seemed to flick the switch, and our boys came to life and went at Rosario with a determination that was great to see , it looked only a matter of time until we got the equaliser  and when it came it was quality Matthew Winchester picked up the ball on the right before putting in a powerfully driven cross that Declan Magee threw his head at and arrowed the ball past the keeper.

The third goal quickly followed after  a good ball from Joe Tolan to release Gary Topping down the right he picked out a delightful ball which Declan Magee looked to complete his hat trick only for the keeper to make a fine stop but Niall Tunney was alive to the situation and slammed the ball home.

We then pushed on and got the fourth after a great ball from Joseph Tunney put Gary Topping away down the right he got to the ball ahead of the keeper to knock it past him and finish from a tight angle with a super strike.

The boys showed great character and determination not to give this game up and they got what they deserved which hasnt always been the case this year.

Well done lads lets see this level of energy commitment and determination until the end of the season.
