2009s win at Portavogie tournament

Colts 2009s won their latest trophy on Saturday 20th August winning the festival of football at Portavogie. They played six games on the day nicking past Portavogie in the semi-final and a tightly contested win over Castle in the final. They earlier played really well against Glentoran, Oliver Plunketts, St Oliver Plunkett’s and Bloomfield.

Everyone on the day played the same time (just about all positions!) and everyone managed to score a goal. They showed all the heart, tenacity, skill and sportsmanship we want to see from all our teams. A great day out, despite the rain, and a great advert for the future of our club.

The 2009 group trains as usual on Friday nights at Loughmoss, from 6.30 to 8pm. The momentum is building at our grassroots level and all children (boys and girls) of all ability are welcome to join us

Overall it was a fantastic performance throughout the day by the whole team and every player contributed to the trophy win and they all played very well. The squad was; Fintan, Sean, Joseph R, Kenzie, Matthew and Daniel. Player of the day was Daniel with a great goal and some terrific saves to match! Many thanks also to the coaches Stevie McArdle and Ciaran Bunting supported by Mark Reilly & Stevie Harte for helping on the day.
