Seconds lose out on penalties

Templeton Cup

Carryduff Colts II …..5
Mossley……………….5

(Mossley win on penalties)

Carryduff Colts suffered heartbreak as they lost out on penalties against a team two divisions higher.

It was the Seconds best performance of the season as they came from 4-1 down and were unlucky not to win the game.

Caleb Keating scored in the first half playing into the wind and pulled it back to 4-2 early in the second half.

Mossley then restored their three goal advantage Luke Holden and Niall McArdle reduced the arrears.

Then it was Conor O’Toole who grabbed the all important equaliser and force the game to penalty kicks.

Colts took an early lead in the shoot out but Mossley clawed it back to win on sudden death.

The disappointment of losing shouldn’t overshadow the pride manager John Mulholland has for all 14 players after a terrific showing
