Carryduff U14 A 1 v 0 Ballynahinch

Carryduff U14 A 1 - 0 Ballynahinch
05 May 2016Lough Moss
A great result in a game in which we could have scored five or six but we were happy with the win and the three points.

A good result and the performance was pleasing we could have scored more goals Declan Magee had a goal ruled out for offside
and Jamie Wilkinson also had an effort ruled out after the ref judged the ball had crossed the goal line.

The Ballynahinch goal keeper made two good saves from Declan when through one on one  and a fine stop from Jamie Wilkinson after the ball had been pulled back from Matthew Winchester, Jamie hit a first time shot  which looked to be heading into the net only for the keeper to through himself across goal to save.

The spine of the team looked very strong tonight with Ewan Wilson making a super save from the Ballynahinch striker who was well marshalled by  Aidan Martin and Rhys Worthington and Jamie Wilkinson and Matthew O ‘Rourke in midfield were very solid and Joseph Tunney and Declan Magee had caused the Ballynahinch defence problems all game.

We had the better of the game but Ballynahinch were always a danger with the striker being an exceptional player however Aidan ,Rhys, Jude Lynam and Odhran Sherry have been very good in the last few weeks and kept him under wraps.

We made a few changes with Gary Topping coming on for Niall Tunney and having another long range effort just of target.

Joe Tolan came on for Mathew Winchester and had a big impact in the game he was a constant threat on the right hand side of midfield and produced the goal and also had three or four crosses flashed across goal which we should have converted.

Aidan Martin had a header cleared of the line and Matthew Winchester had a half volley flash just across goal just before we scored.

The goal was scored by Joseph Tunney after good work from Odhran Sherry and Joe Tolan down the right who crossed for Declan Magee to force the keeper into another good save but Joseph Tunney followed the ball in and slotted home.

Well done lads one more game lets keep it going and finish strongly.
